This is snap shot of the work I have done with youth in schools, and with community arts programs that I developed for under served youth. The scope of the work focuses on using the arts as a vehicle for positive youth development. The projects have been collaborative and co-created often involving inter generational activities. These have included job training with youth that have gang affiliations, working with Elementary and Middle School students to develop, create and produce murals their schools mural, high school students creating their own programs and projects, and free art youth development programs for under-served communities.
Through the exploration, study of the of art making process, and discovery with the materials, students engaged in self discovery and get the necessary support, to inform their practice and the development of their ideas, all while gaining and advancing the technical skills required to execute them.
